Judge Mike Martin AWFP, EFIAP, BPE1* was our judge for our second Open Print Competition of the year. Mike took great care, time and detail to critique the prints, an object session in what to include and what to leave out. Congratulations go to our winners, Barbara Jones scooped up first and second in the beginners group. Richard Jones was also placed 1st and 2nd in the intermediate group, luckily there was not another Jones in the Advanced group otherwise the Jones would have had a clean sweep. David Eagle was placed first in the advanced group with ‘Follow the Path’, taken on an iPhone, Robert Harvey collecting 2nd, 3rd and Highly Commended.
In the second half, Mike showed the club some of his early prints leading through to recent competitions he has entered. He showed some of his creative art, mainly portraits of one sort or another but with some rather whacky composites added to the mix! encouraging us to get out and be more creative.
