Club In-House
It was great to be back at the club last night for the first meeting of the season, to welcome everyone back and meet so many guests and new members.
Frank (Programme Secretary) talked about the amazing programme he has put together which will keep us entertained for the season - there’s something for everyone so do keep an eye on the website to see what’s going on.
Gerald (one of our Competition Secretaries) spoke about PhotoEntry, our new competition software that will make life less time consuming for the competition team.
Thank you to Caroline and Barbara (Treasurer) for some excellent cakes to eat with our coffee.
Penny (Webmaster) gave us a fascinating insight into her street photography methods; hunting and fishing take on a new meaning in this genre! She showed us how she builds her images up in layers with interest in the background, mid-ground and foreground, often using coordinating colours to tie it all together.
Bridget (Publicity Secretary) talked about a panel of architectural images created for an Open University course showcasing the work of architect Charles Holden, who designed over 50 stations for the London Underground extension between 1920 - 1950.
And last but by no means least, Caroline (Membership Secretary) spoke about all the exciting trips already planned for our Special Interest Group. We have a monthly S.I.G. meeting on the first Thursday of the month (at Bishops Cannings village hall) to discuss and plan trips, view images from past trips and help members with any Lightroom or Photoshop queries with some of our expert processors! This is also an opportunity to learn about competition work in both prints and projected images.
This is promising to be an exciting season and I for one, am very much looking forward to it! BC
