The next Special Interest Group trip will be to Bath on 9th September 2024 for the Jane Austen Festival.
The Regency Costumed Promenade is the first event of the week long Jane Austen Festival and an opportunity to photograph many Jane Austen followers, who dress up in full costume to parade through the streets of Bath .It is a great opportunity to photograph portraits of people as most of the attendees are happy to pose for photographers.
The parade begins at the Holborn Museum on Great Pultney Street, Bath at 11 am, those taking part will gather from around 10am in Sydney Gardens at the back of the Museum. When we went a couple of years ago there were several exhibits within the gardens as well. I am not sure where they congregate for the Festival Fayre, at the end of the parade as this has not yet been announced, but in previous years there will be a small charge to enter the Fayre venue if you want to take more photos.
Caroline will get the train from Chippenham at 9.11 arriving in Bath at 9.22, it is about a 15 minute walk to the Holborn Museum from the station. She will probably return home shortly after Lunch, however you are free to stay and photograph the many opportunities in Bath if you wish . You can drive into Bath and park if you wish.
The meeting point will be at 10am the front of the Holborn Museum, Great Pulteney Street .BA24DB W3W ///buddy.ships.fund
