Tewkesbury Medieval Festival is considered the largest free Medieval gathering in Europe which has re-enactors, entertainers and trade stands.
The main feature is the re-enactment of the Battle Of Tewkesbury. A number of participants live for the weekend as an authentic medieval army in authentic encampments. There is also music, dance and drama. Plenty of photographic opportunities.
The main events of the weekend take place adjacent to Tewkesbury town centre, just off the Gloucester Road, on part of the original battle site. Further events take place around the town centre and at Tewkesbury Abbey. The main site is just 5 minutes walk from the town centre.
Opening times for 2024:
Saturday July 13th: 11AM – 6PM (followed by events in the town)
Sunday July 14th: 11AM – 5PM
Follow the yellow signs from outside of town, they take you to our car parks. Parking costs just £10 per car all day. Please do NOT park on the streets surrounding the festival, it upsets local residents and police and can cause traffic congestion, especially for emergency vehicles. And you may get a parking ticket!
