Bridget Codrington - It all begins with an idea.
My favourite image from 2022 is this Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) shot taken at Gwithian beach, Cornwall. I was walking the SWCP in north Cornwall over 3 weeks last summer and set myself a project to perfect the art of seaside horizontal ICM while I was there. This technique is totally hit and miss; the weather was bright and sunny so I used a 10-stop filter and couldn’t see a thing through the viewfinder so I could only see if I had been successful afterwards on the back of the camera. Many images were taken and later deleted before I settled on this one. It reminds me of a hot, clear, summer’s day on a beautiful Cornish beach.
It was taken with my Canon EOS 77D, 18-135mm lens at 85mm, f22, 10-stop Colin filter, 6 second exposure.
And what would I not leave the house without? A flask of tea!
