Annual Battle between Frome Wessex Photographic and Devizes Photography Club

The annual battle between Frome Wessex Photographic and Devizes Photography Club took place last night.

This year is particularly poignant for all of us, due to the death of Lynda Croft, who was an extremely capable treasurer for both clubs. A new glass trophy, in her memory and engraved with Lynda’s name was presented to the winner, Frome Wessex Photographic. It was lovely that members from Lynda’s family were able to join us for zoom from America for the evening.

Our judge for the evening was John Tilsley ARPS, APAGB, DPAGB, scoring sixty images, with marks out of twenty.

Devizes accumulated 521 points to Frome’s 540. Congratulations must go to the seven images that scored twenty points, including two from Robert Harvey and one from David Wilkinson, from our club.

Among the many recommendations John Tilsley made were to consider whether the image needs cropping, does the image tell a story, does the image have impact, and has it been processed correctly with regards to exposure and blown highlights. GC
