Lady in Red by Pam Mullings – 1st place

Pam used layers, brushes and the warp tool to play around and create the dress and veil.

National Celebration by Janet Rutter – 2nd place

Janet says: ‘National Celebration was made after I photographed and printed a union jack as a background. With use of a mirror and placing glasses of water, the reflections gave a distorted and pleasing result. The image was side lit using natural daylight’.

Beside the Seaside by Lynda Croft – 3rd place

Whilst away in East Anglia for a few days last December, with some of the talented ladies from @devizes_camera_club we visited Southwold. The long line of beach huts looked quite ordinary in the fading light, on a bitterly cold afternoon, but the red hut tempted me to try some ICM (intentional camera movement). We can rarely predict our results with ICM, however, I was pleased with the outcome in this image.

The Spirit of Knowlton Church by Robert Harvey – HC

Knowlton church is claimed to be one of the most ‘haunted’ places in Britain. I took a group there to photograph the night sky but it was cloudy. So instead I ran around the ruins of the church holding a flashing light sabre to create this effect on a 20-second exposure.

Heaven’s Gate by Robert Harvey – HC

Robert tells me ‘The tridecagon at Heaven’s Gate on the Longleat Estate seems ideal for framing a picture of the night sky. When I tried it, I thought that something more was required to make an interesting image. So I stood still inside the tridecagon for 20 seconds and rotated a red torch to illuminate it, whilst not moving my elbows’.

Last Glow of Autumn by Gina Gordon – HC

Gina took this image in early November 2021 on the bank of a canal in the east of the Netherlands. The leaves on the water and the reflection of the tree on the other side were combined in an ICM in warm late-Autumn sunshine.

Intimate Contact by Janet Rutter – HC

ntimate Contact was made using two similar size brown eggs, carefully supported underneath by cutouts from an egg box.  It was quite tricky to get the eggs lying together and to look natural.  In Photoshop I distorted the egg shapes to make them slightly longer. It gave a pleasing and authentic result.

Power Walk by Pam Mullings – HC

Pam says ‘It's a long walk in the Yorkshire dales to get some electricity when your car runs out!’ Created using many layers.

Red by Robin Gregory – HC

Bed of Roses by Pam Mullings – HC

Pam added roses using layers and then blended them together. Several textures were added to give a dreamy effect.
